World Toilet Day

Groundwater is invisible, but its impact is visible everywhere. This World Toilet Day is all about making the invisible visible and taking action to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 on water and sanitation for all. The 3.6 billion people worldwide who lack access to safely managed sanitation depend on these efforts. Learn more about the day and ways to get involved. The day, commemorated on 19 November every year, is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

SDG Pavilion

The SDG Pavilion at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, aims to bring together experts and policymakers leading the implementation of climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals around the world for a series of discussions on how to accelerate action across both the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement.

Day of 8 Billion

On 15 November 2022, the world’s population is projected to reach 8 billion people, a milestone in human development. This unprecedented growth is due to the gradual increase in human lifespan owing to improvements in public health, nutrition, personal hygiene and medicine. It is also the result of high and persistent levels of fertility in some countries.

Internet Governance Forum

The 17th IGF, under the overarching theme Resilient Internet for a Shared Sustainable and Common Future, will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 28 November to 2 December 2022. The meeting programme is guided by five themes drawn from the Global Digital Compact in the UN Secretary-General's Our Common Agenda report.
